Is party plan still relevant?

I was chatting to a friend the other day, someone that has huge amount of experience and success in running a direct selling, party plan business, about the party plan business and whether it was still relevant in today's world.

She ran a profitable sex toy party plan business and we both agreed that when it comes to sex toys, vibrators, bedroom products, sexy lingerie and the like we both still believe strongly that home parties are a great way to get insights and be able to ask questions in a comfortable environment.

The challenge for party plan is remaining relevant  in a digital age. Many direct selling / party plan companies have evolved to embrace the digital channels we now all operate in, however, I don't believe you can beat the face-to-face way where you can touch, smell, try on and ask the questions that inevitably only come to mind when you're holding a product!

How things will evolve in the future remains to be seen.
